The presenter, Gary McCausland, described our furniture as modern and stylish. Channel Five's website says: With the property market in the UK slowing down, more and more canny Brits are looking overseas to top up their ailing pension or fund a new way of life. Smart movers are looking to make money by developing property in countries with fast booming economies like Bulgaria, Spain, North Cyprus, Portugal and Morocco. Here property is cheap and tourists are clamouring to bask in the sun either in their own villa or a rented one. Supply often outstrips demand and for the property developer that means there's money to be made turning hovels into dream homes. How easy is it to develop property overseas? Surely in a foreign country with a language barrier, cultural differences and unfamiliar business practice it has to be high risk? Jane and Carl Berry live in Nottingham and have bought and renovated several local properties, which they rent out. Jane manages this small property business and Carl owns a ground working business. Jane and Carl met when working in Spain and have been together for 23 years. They have two children, Rory aged 19 and Lori aged 15. They? have recently bought in The Republic of Northern Cyprus so they already know the area. Jane and Carl have looked all over Europe at property and haven't found anywhere as appealing as Northern Cyprus.
